In 2011, the OrthoVirginia Medical Office Building opened its doors to serve over 40 orthopedic physician specialists and their staff. An already established practice, the new name was accompanied by the construction of a state of the art facility specializing in orthopedic care and sports medicine. One of several locations and area hospitals, this central building houses the practice’s administrative branch, offers diagnosis and treatment, and provides physical and occupational therapy.
A first of its kind, the OrthoVirginia building now serves as an up-to-date resource for the latest in orthopedic diagnostics, repair, and rehabilitation. As planned, the $25 million, two-story, 70,000 sq ft building is also currently pending LEED certification for its green building design and operation. Additionally, the eye-catching aesthetics of OrthoVirginia solidify the building as visually appealing as it is eco-friendly.
As specified in Price Studios’ design, the fabricators at Roof Services Corporation employed the use of ALPOLIC panels on the fascia, walls, and various accents on the building. Most recognizably, ALPOLIC was also used on the dramatically lit signature entryway. Internally illuminated to create a fascinating crown-like silhouette, the reflection off the ALPOLIC panels highlights the building’s attractive design all while directing visitors to their destination.
