The exterior of the Origami building in Paris, France features an orate pattern of screen-printed folded glass panels that imitate thinly sliced marble. Serving as a harmonious extension of the surrounding architecture, the exterior façade flattens out on the sides where it joins the neighboring structures. Still, the building stands out as a more contemporary addition to the classical style often seen near the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

The panels were created using a film of marble mounted on two layers of glass. The double skinned glass allows natural light to penetrate the modern interior of the structure while also creating the necessary amount of privacy needed for the building’s commercial use.

No part of the office building is overtly flashly, allowing the structure to serve as a subtle and delicate addition to the lavish Parisian neighborhood.

  1. The thin glass-marble-glass sandwich is impressive. The facade is a nice balance between creativity and restraint.
