Abutting the River Spree, located in Berlin’s cultural epicenter, the nhow Music & Lifestyle Hotel brings a new level of diversity to the hospitality market. Coined as a “lifestyle hotel,” the structure showcases a new dynamic in hospitality…the integration of music and design. As Europe’s first musically interfaced hotel, the nhow chain features two in-house sound studios.
Luxury is synonymous with Hotel Fasano’s South American retreats. Fasano Hotels has three locations in Brazil. Each hotel, while unique in design, exudes panache from the inside out. Located in the small municipal city of Porto Feliz, 100km outside of São Paulo, sits the Hotel Fasano Boa Vista. Comfort is a primary feature in hospitality, but equally important is the ability for the structure to be a departure from everyday residential living.
Research suggests a correlation between architecture and the improvement of human health. With that in mind, the architects of NORD created a healthcare facility with the subtle nuances of a residential project. Healthcare construction is often overly extravagant or too minimal. As a cancer treatment facility, the architects’ were required to construct an iconic structure without overpowering the building’s purpose.
Amidst the snowy mountains of Hinterglemm, Austria lies the Hotel Wiesergut, a whimsical creation of Austrian design firm, Gogl Architekten. The project required renovating the existing structure with more modern elements of design. The organic nature of its construction allows the hotel to blends into the surrounding landscape. Resembling winter with its locally sourced building materials, the hotel utilized dark timber, natural stone, granite, glass and concrete in its construction.
World-renowned architect Frank Gehry is known for his extravagant, avant-garde and genuinely unique interpretation of modern architecture. Gehry recently abandoned his strong forbearance of building in the city of Las Vegas when approached by local liquor distributor, Larry Ruvo. Lou Ruvo, Larry’s father, struggled with Alzheimer’s disease, prompting Larry to establish a neurological research facility in his honor.
